17 October: International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty has been observed every year since 1993, when the United Nations General Assembly, by resolution 47/196, designated this day to promote awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution in all countries. Fighting poverty remains at the core of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).Come and join us as we strategize to make poverty a history in Africa. The eradication of poverty is a key objective of Agenda 2063 vision.

Whether you work in the field, use public engagement as part of your role, or are simply curious to know more, this is for you. Hear from invited speakers, meet new faces (and old ones) over a drink, and chat about participation. You never know what connections or ideas might be born from a chance encounter.
