Agenda 2063 HRE

The knowledge and skills to claim own rights and to respect and uphold the rights of others are fundamental to human rights realisation. We work to strengthen human rights education around Africa to create a universal culture of human rights.

How we work

We work strategically with the AU, state and non-state actors to incorporate human rights education in education policies and programmes. This includes both formal and non-formal education systems and in primary schools as well as in the education of teachers, police officers, health care practitioners etc.

We are the first and only organisation in Africa that have designed courses and syllabuses on Agenda 2063 for both

Our Online Learning Hub

Through our online learning hub, we continuously develop and provide free state-of-the-art learning materials and we apply tools to document the learning effect. Based on many years of experience, we provide technical assistance and training for practitioners in development agencies, state institutions and civil society organisations on human rights, including how to apply a human rights-based approach to the implementation of Agenda 2063 Visit our learning hub here.

Agenda-setting on human rights education

We influence UN- and development agencies, NHRIs and education actors to strengthen the normative framework for human rights education. We do so through policy dialogues, by showcasing best practice, and by strengthening global data collection on human rights education.
