His book presents the key debates that took place during the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) meetings on the theme of the High-Level Segment of 2003, “Promoting an integrated approach to rural development in developing countries for poverty eradication and sustainable development”. This publication also includes the Secretary-General’s report as well as the Ministerial Declaration on the theme of the ECOSOC High-Level Segment of 2003.

The African Union’s Economic, Social and Cultural Council: An Evaluation of Its Mandate in Facilitating Civil Society Participation in the African Union

The creation of the African Union (AU) broke new ground in the conceptualisation and design of international organisations. This work examines the legal and institutional framework of ECOSOCC with a view to determining whether it is a viable mechanism for African civil society to engage with AU policy makers thus contributing to the democratisation of the AU’s policy-making processes.
