AU WATCH

How to Donate

When you donate to the AU Watch you help restore hope and opportunity for millions of individuals in Africa. Of every $1 the AU Watch spends, more than 90¢ goes to programs and services that directly benefit people.

Changing Minds In Africa

Africa is often referred to as a broken continent. Have we been wasting time in micro-analysing the challenges? Don’t you think that colonization, lack of democracy, poor governance, corruption, human rights violations, ethnic tensions, war, famine, drought, diseases, infant mortality, among others are mere manifestations of the problems, and not the roots of Africa’s problems?

We have discovered that if Africa is to work, three critical elements that, when combined, empower people to make rapid progress in challenging human rights violations and overcoming hopelessness and poverty:
• Changing Our Mindset

• More than the Usual Attention to the Women and the Youths of Africa

• Mobilising Communities

How your donation can helps us to hold our states managers accountable, promote and protect human rights, stop corruption in its tracks and improves governance and social justice.

$10 a Month

Did you know that there are millions of out-of school children in Africa? Your donation will help to put and keep a child in school and even feed in school.Your help will garantee a bright future

$7 a Month

How do we monitor and hold to account what our state managers are doing? The media is a pretty good way to start. Support AU Watch TV and radio. Help us train more journalists around Africa.

$3 a Month

Few places in the world hold the level of hopelessness of an African prison. Now imagine a prison in a failing state in Africa. Now imagine a prison in a failing state in Africa that holds children. Help us to stop it!

Or choose your own amount to give

What you’re about to do could help change Africa.

Whether you decide to make a one-off donation or pledge a monthly gift, we promise that the donation you make to AU Watch today will be used to promote and protect human rights.

We really don’t have to show you pictures of destitution and hopelessness around Africa. Thousands of children don’t go to school. Those who do, go to schools that, honestly, will shame 15th century Europe. Between them, diseases like malaria, cholera and typhoid claim the lives of millions of children every year. Yet a $55 donation from you today could help us put a child in school, feed in school and even provide their mothers with life-saving care, such as nutritional advice, anti-malarial mosquito nets and vitamin supplements, to keep them safe from disease. The donation you make today could help save a child’s life.
Every donation count, and we’re grateful for whatever you feel you can afford. A one-off donation is a fantastic start, but regular donations mean we can commit to working with empowering all of us for as long as it takes. A monthly gift allows supporters to spread the financial impact of their giving across the entire year, lessening the acute financial impact. Supporters end up giving more on an annual basis, but the distribution of payments across the year makes the commitment more manageable.

Please help us to change lives, for good.

A monthly gift from you allows us to make ambitious plans, and invest in the futures of young girls and their communities. It means we can make a real, sustainable difference to the lives of women and girls. Please help us to change lives, for good.

What AU Watch does

AU Watch, is a non-profit non-governmental organization of African citizens, people of African descent and people of good will towards Africa. We monitor the activities and performances of the AU and AU Member States by the standard of its Constitutive Act, and all the other standards and ideals they have set for themselves. We challenge the AU and States Parties to the Constitutive Act to live up to those standards. When they fail, we step in to demand reform, accountability and justice. Where they succeed, we reinforce such success by taking concrete steps to maintain it. We are also committed to advancing a wider understanding of what the AU is, what it does, and the effects it has on its various constituents. So, through our comprehensive media, outreach and education programs and activities, we seek to raise awareness, expand and disseminate information and understanding of AU affairs.
